I'm Kavita, a product engineer based in London. I started in business development at a legal-tech startup in Delhi, where I got curious about the software running my customers' lives. I taught myself to build it from 2019, moved to the UK in 2023, and have been shipping code for clients ever since.
The detour matters. Before I wrote a line of production code, I was the person on the call with the customer working out what they actually needed. That habit, paying attention to what someone really wants, hasn't left.

Most of my week is engineering. Two weekend shifts at Sainsbury's keep things steady while I move fully into dev.
Monday to Thursday, remote contract. Stripe payment integration, UI work, system design, and QA on a dental exam prep platform serving paying UK users sitting their LDS and ORE licensing exams. Built with React, Node.js, and SQL.
Built and shipped five-plus sites for restaurant and community clients including Aromas Tandoori, Darshan Nepal, and Blue Dragon (a Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurant in Tallinn). Designed a reusable GraphQL-backed component architecture so clients can toggle features like menus and bookings without code changes.
Two weekend shifts (Friday and Saturday), kept on while teaching myself the dev stack from 2023 and moving fully into engineering work.

I read more non-fiction than fiction, walk most of London I can reach on foot, and am slowly learning to cook a Sunday roast that doesn't taste like a Tuesday one. I speak English, Hindi, and Nepali, which is occasionally useful and always a good way to end up in a longer conversation than I planned.
